This scarf contains a portrait of a young man, seated on the ground with a bird perched on his right hand and a fruit (perhaps a pomegranate) held in his left. The portrait is framed within an elaborate background of a forest populated by animals and birds. It was painted in the late 16th Century by an unknown Persian artist. The original painting is now in the possession of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City.
