Solstice

Solstice is a hand-thrown porcelain vessel by Margaret O'Rorke, which Nazanin transformed into light using an invention of Moritz Waldemeyer. Illuminated from within by a flickering LED candle. It has a circular opening, glowing with light, and so symbolizes the midday sun, or Soltice. Perfect for a romantic dinner, or for a patio party on a warm summer evening.

The vase comprises two key components. The first is the fine ceramic vase itself, hand thrown by Margaret O'Rorke in her Oxford studio. Being translucent, it allows the light of the LED candle inside to permeate through the thin wall of the vase The second is the LED lamp inside, an invention by Moritiz Waldemeyer, which recreates the light of a flickering candle, can be easily removed and recharged using a USB-C cable.
